Characteristics

Prima is a red wine from Toro prepared by Maurodos Winery and Vineyards. This wine is a blend of Tinta de Toro (90%) and Grenache (10%).

Prima grapes come from vines between 10 and 35 years old, owned by the winery, growing on clay and sandy soils.

The temperature differences between day and night are great, which gives the wine a great aromatic power.

The two varieties are vinified separately in tanks of different materials, so that the essence of each plot is not lost.

Prima aging takes place in barrels of French and American oak for about 14 months. The barrels are renewed by 20% year on year. The red wines of Bodegas Maurodos look to find excellence in Tinta de Toro, the main variety used by them. The winery has 65 hectares of organic vineyards which produce 2 wines.

Tasting notes

Wide and powerful entry. Intense and tasty, a long finish of fruit nuances, Cherry red with garnet hues. Very bright, High intensity, notes of red and black fruits. Spicy and sweet aromas.
